Discussion:
[jitsi-users] Mailing list broken

Is the mailing list moderated ?

My posts don't appear - is the list set to not echo the post to the
originator?

Or is the mailing list broken?

At first I thought the problem might be the fact that I was using a
yahoo email address. So, I changed email addresses and eliminated that
as the potential source of the problem. I still don't get a copy of
mail I post - which wouldn't be so bad if I got responses.

Please advise.

Thank you

Not receiving your own message from the list is apparently a standard
setting for this list.

Thank you to both you and Boris for responding.

Yes, apparently so. Quite disconcerting. Doesn't it bother anyone else?

It did, but you'll get used to it :)

And yet - sometimes my posts do in fact get echoed back as can be seen
below.

And this is why I think it's broken. Some posts echo, some don't. That
- to me at least - is a sign of broken. Very strange. Unless of course
the list owner just decided to change the policy; that would be welcome.

Posts are sent to the poster itself, I always get my own mails. However you
may want to check if you accidentally changed a setting on Mailman (login at
the link provided at the bottom of each mail). And check your spam folder,
sometimes mails from the list get flagged - especially if you use gmail.

Another thing is: if you're not subscribed to the list, then mails are
moderated.

Thank you. I use thunderbird - and it turns out my ISP was
pre-filtering my email and moving it to the junk folder as the default,
without my knowledge or authorization. Presumably in the name of
"convenience".

So again, thank you, it appears the problem is solved. I apologize for
bothering the list.
